Host Families Sought for Oyster River Visit 9/17-18

We are seeking host families for the Oyster River High School Varsity and Junior Varsity soccer teams on the weekend of September 17th-18th. Oyster River will be playing at Lebanon on Friday afternoon, and they have accepted our offer to host them Friday night and Saturday morning before they play the Hanover teams at Noon on Saturday. Following the games, both teams will have a barbeque lunch at the high school before Oyster River heads home. This proposal was made originally in July and the response was swift and generous, prompting the offer the Oyster River and their quick acceptance. These two teams have the a very long history of combined excellence in New Hampshire soccer, and this is another appropriate way to celebrate Hanover's 50th year of soccer.

Here is the timetable:

Friday

6:00 p.m. Pick up players at Lebanon high school after their games (and after HHS practice, so our players will be available at that time)

Supper at the homes of the host families, followed by typical low-key Friday night pre-game stuff: Movies, TV, FIFA 2011, ping-pong at Barths', etc.

Saturday

9:00 Wakeup

9:30 Out of Bed, hearty breakfast

10:50 All players arrive at HHS

12:00 Kickoff for both games: Varsity on HHS turf, JV on HHS grass

2:00 Handshakes, re-hydration

2:15 Barbeque

3:00 Oyster River departure

Please contact Rob Grabill by e-mail (robert.grabill@valley.net) if you are able to host one or two players or coaches. Please do this to confirm your previous offer, or make the offer for the first time. I will acknowledge each one, and soon begin the process of matching Oyster River players and families. This should be a great way to make these games into a special event with the help of one of our oldest and most respected rivals.
