The Marauder Junior Varsity continued its successful start to the season with a 7-0 victory over Coe-Brown in Northwood Saturday afternoon. The JV is now 4-0, having outscored the opposition 26-0.
Eli Connolly and Connor Gordon combined for a 2-0 lead in the first half against a capable and determined Coe-Brown crew. Gordon assisted Connolly's goal three minutes into the game, and then scored his first of two goals, assisted by Connolly, with five minutes left in the half.
The Marauders exploded for four goals in a ten-minute stretch in the second half. Freshman Rocco Linehan scored in his fourth straight game, assisted by Tomas LaPorta. Five minutes later Zach Taylor made the score 4-0 with an assist by Daniel Slayton. Tauylor then get the helper on Connor Gordon's second goal. Defender Christian Johansen closed out the onslaught with an impressive long-range blast from midfield, and then assisted the final goal by Xavier Tchana.
Hanover's airtight defense resulted in another shutout for Duncan Piper and Ryan O'Rourke.
The Marauders return to action Thursday, hosting Plymouth at 4:30.
